Skiredj Library of Tijani Studies
Why this heritage matters
Tijani heritage represents an important part of the history of scholarship, Sufism, and spiritual education in Morocco, Africa, and the wider Islamic world. It is not limited to devotional litanies, but includes works of jurisprudence, hadith, biography, scholarly correspondence, doctrinal defense, and spiritual literature.
This corpus reveals a broad network of scholars, muqaddams, scribes, publishers, readers, and institutions. It also shows the international and living character of the Tijani tradition, whose books and transmission networks circulated across Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Sudan, Senegal, and beyond.
